Daris Wilson walked out of the New York Stock Exchange on March 9, 2010, and the next morning he sat down at a Starbucks in Jersey City with a notebook and a plan to build something of his own. He's never owned a home staging company, but he's lived the same technician-to-CEO pattern from a different industry. For the next 14 years he built a boutique fitness business in Jersey City, where he was the one training clients at 5am, closing sales, writing the emails, and locking up at night.
In early 2013, after Hurricane Sandy, he couldn't make rent and had to borrow money from a friend, which forced him to hire a business coach and start building real systems underneath the business. He now co-runs an e-commerce brand with his wife that does $40K to $85K in monthly revenue, and he currently coaches the owner of a Denver-based staging company through the same framework that lives inside this course, documenting her role so she can finally step off the job site and run the business from the top.
The Staged CEO™ Accelerator is the playbook he wishes he'd had, adapted to staging so the stagers who come after him can go straight to building a company that runs without them.
